Subject: Speak to someone in CHC London? |

Hi there
Has anyone went to CHC London and asked to speak to someone regarding their file?
I went for my interview and was told that my application was approved, and I would be sent my passport request. However some weeks ago I received a request for my medicals and police checks. They already have these (and they are only 4 months old, hence it may be a clerical error? I cant explain the disappointment when I opened the envelope expecting to see my passport request..
I faxed them several weeks ago - have heard nothing.
I was thinking of going down to London and asking to speak to someone re this as for every week I wait for an answer, I could have gotten another medical/police check if for some reason they infact need it.
Any ideas appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

(in reply to: Speak to someone in CHC London?) Hi.
I went to CIC a few times to speak to them. Both pre and post-interview.
They are only open to the general public (you and me) for visa matters between 9 and 11 am. (Interviews and passport collection times are different).
When you get there, be prepared for a wait, as any special queries are dealt with after all the visitor visas have been dealt with.
You´ll get a ticket, and get told to wait until after 11am. First time I went, I got there at 0830 queued outside. Queued inside, and got seen at 1215.
Take your ipod !
Anyway, each time they told me that they couldn´t discuss my file, and told me to fax in the request.
However....they did listen to me, and I was able to hand over copy documents etc. so I was certain they had received them.
Also - this could just be coincidence - I did actually get responses by post very soon afterwards.
If it´s not too difficult to get down there, then I would say go. They are as helpful as they can be, given their restrictions - ´only case workers can look at the file´, ´files cannot be moved up the list´ - you know the stuff).
Anyway, IMHO it´s worth a visit if you´re able. If it´s a real concern, what have you got to lose?

For Tony (in reply to: Speak to someone in CHC London?) Dear Tony,
Thank you so much for your reply. I figured the worst they could say is no.
Kind regards,
TM
