As I know this price is normal.I don`t think you are willing to go to other state for medical just for the the reason of less price than Taxas.

By the way , can we share your timeline?

Thanks.

I forgot - I think for kids it is cheaper as they don´t have to go through all the tests (like XRays etc.)

I guess CIC should look into making it a standard charge like application fees. I hope they are aware that these clinics have become shops where they charge what they feel.

In my case even after charging US $320 they misplaced my medicals (sent by ordinary mail) after charging me US $60 for S&H alone!!. I had to pay US$ 30 again for them to send a copy to CIC.

This has become like a good business for these clinics to mess up and still charge applicants for resubmissions, second medicals for bad X-Rays - and no recourse for applicants. I mean in end the applicant says as I did, what is additional 300-400 $ compared to successful application.

$320 ! The doctors do think there is a market...

CIC should look into this, just like US immigration does. The doctor only charge $50 per adult for US immigration.

My timeline:

I filed on June last year from New York. Got a letter this March requesting Medical, Landing payment, and update fund statement. They did not ask for Police certificate at this point. I guess I still have a long way to go.

Does anyone knows, if I take the medical exam today, how long shall I wait to get CIC notice on the result? 3 months?

I did my medical in Hong Kong and paid about USD$250. The doctor sent the report very quickly, which just took about 1 week to reach Ottawa.

Usually I hear that CIC changes your EStatus to medicals received after appox. 3 months from your medicals.
