Subject: To 'Less worried husband'- what's your opinion?
I have enquired through e-mail to the BJN office and got this response: "...Please be advised that a request letter was sent to applicant´s mailing address on 10-March-2005..." Do you think they´ve sent the letter to my wife´s address(just like they did in your case) as opposed to sending it to me? After all, I´m her designated rep.

Also what´s your opinion on "REQUEST LETTER"? Does it sound positive(request for Passport) or what(request for interview)?

Thanks

Though you are the sponsor, this is your wife that made an application to immigrate. So I "suppose" that she is the applicant and the letter should have been sent to her.

They could request anything. So I cannot answer this question. However, if your case is simple and if everything is proven, I think that they will not "request" an interview. I hope they meant her passport.

But I want to tell you that with my wife´s passport, they also requested a photocopy of all my passport´s pages notarized and send along with her passport. The only reason I could think of for this last request was to check if what I had told them was true, and they could check that with my passport. And everything was true. So everything went fast. I hope it will be as fast for you. Please keep me (us) informed.

Good luck.

Mail Address (in reply to: To 'Less worried husband'- what's your opinion?)
I think we made a common mistake. In the immigration form, where it´s asking for the mail address of the applicant, we should have put our mailing addresses in Canada as opposed to mailing addresses of our spouses in their homeland. That´s what I think.

The letter is not in her hands as of today. I e-mailed the office and they said they´ve sent it to her mailing address. If she doesn´t see it by tomorrow, I´m going to e-mail again and ask them to send it. So, I don´t know what they´re are requesting.

I am not sure, but I heard that if you get in touch with CIC, unless absolute necessity, they may put your file at the very end. Check former postings on that maatter. Or some other can advice?

Good luck.

Hi,

She got the similar request as your wife. They require her passport(!), resume, birth certificate, the original marriage certificate and the copies of my passport pages.

One thing worries me a bit. With the accompanying general letter (not specifically addressed to her) it says: ?Application for permament residence in Canada in the immigrant category in which you have applied currently require APPROXIMATELY 6-9 MONTHS to process at this office?. I find it at bit too long than the usual one which is 80% within 4 months. Has your wife received the same letter? What?s your opinion on this? If they?re asking for her passport, it?s pretty positive, but why this letter and those long months?

Thanks
