It depends upon which province or territory to which you will be moving. I am planning on moving to Ontario, so can only write of that. But for Ontario, you have to have credentials from the Ontario College of Teachers. Applying you will have to go through some red-tape with documents and whatnot, but much less than applying for PR. However, you can´t apply for to the Ontario College of Teachers unless you have your PR, from what I gather. But once you have the PR, the process takes about six-eight weeks, according to their site. After obtaining certification (assuming you have one from your home country), you will be given a temporary lisence to teach for one year during which time you have to prepare for, take, and pass the Ontario test for teaching.
I assume other provinces have a similar process. Check that province´s Ministry of Education and College of Teachers.

I am currenty working on my teaching licensure in French here in Ohio. I have noticed there is a high demand for French teachers in Ontario. What is the process I will need to go through? Can I look for/secure a job before applying for PR, and then apply for certification through the Ontario College of Teachers? Just looking for a place to start... all of it seems confusing!
