It depends in what class you applied and where you applied... 1 yr is pretty fast... Must be some miracle or so...

Spousal cases are cleared in a matter of 3-6 months now...

but still the SW cases take a hell lot of time...

well...
I think if you are on H1 working in US then you generally have all papers ready. You could very well save the attorney fees and file yourself. I filed for myself and family skilled worker, buffalo, and got PR in 13 months total.
