Anonymous [***.47.220.230] I am in Canada right now...my wife is in India, I called the 1800 ..number here (CIS in Canada) and they said they don´t have any information on this. I tried calling New Delhi but could not get any human to answer the phone. I wish I was in India I could have gone at the embassy.

New delhi started processing 12th Jan 05
acknowledgement sent 20th Jan
request for Passport sent 28th Jan
I sent the passport on 8th Feb
Visa issued 22nd Feb

They sent the passport by registered post and that is really slow (plus I am not in delhi) and I got the mail only on the 7th of March 05

this is really frustrating, u know!
mine and KJ´s wife´s application got started processing by a gap of 1 day! his was 2nd feb and mine was 3rd feb!
i guess that ur wife´s visa and mine should be issued somewat on the same dates too.
duno why they r taking this long?? maybe a bit of more wait! i have heard that from the date ur application is received in mississuga, new delhi takes abt 3-4 months to issue the visa! its been 3 months fr me a KJ; wat abt u anonymous?? i am of the idea too that we 3 should keep in touch on this forum.. maybe we all will get the visa around the same date!

see aman , they have asked from my wife on 14th feb for the passport and we sent the passport on 18th of feb , its been 6 weeks nothing heard , we have even sent downt the fax to them but no answer ,i dont know why are they holding on to this , there is no way you can get in touch with them , they dont answer dont return the call , have no idea whats going on
ON THEIR WEBSITE ITS CLEARLY MENTIONED THAT IT TAKES ONLY 2 WEEKS AFTER YOU SENT DOWN YOUR PASSPORT TO GET YOU A VISA
IF WE ARE NOT GETTING ANYTHING LOOKS LIKE THERE IS SOMETHING WRONG , WE SHOULD INVESTIGATE THIS THOROUGHLY , CALL CENTER IN CANADA DOES NOT ANYTHING ABOUT CHC IN NEW DELHI BECAUSE THEIR COMPUTER IS DIFFERENT THEN CHC NEW DELHI
AMAN AND KG PLEASE KEEP IN TOUCH WITH ME

dont know anonymous, but i have heard different views! it is only someone´s good luck, if he/she gets it in 2 weeks time..
never heard of that though! it can take upto 4-5 weeks or even more! its nothing to get alarmed abt!!!! just relax fr a bit and we guys would be through.. i know its a testing time, but we have choice mate!
on the contrary, the new delhi´s website states it takes 6 monts to get a visa; which is not true!! so, just dont go by the website! people i know have gotten them in a week or some in 5-6 weeks!
so, calm down.... and moreover, u guys have asked fr the enquiry anyways! they take abit of time to answer them; maybe a month or so! ur wife will get the visa much before that.. dont worry

aman
its almost the time to get worried over here , because my friend ´s brother just now got the visa in 1 week , his passport request came down on 15th of march , he sent the passport on 18th march and he got the passport back on 24th of march , so why its taking time in our cases , this is requires due deligence and this has to be taken seriously

no; its not necessarily a matter of concern! i know this and even one of my acquiantances got the pp back with the visa just abt 5 days after his interview! but i have seen cases where it took 2 months or so! depends on how quickly ur background checks and medical checks are made!! fr example, i lived in the UK fr 3 years and my background check would be done in India and UK! it all depends frm case to case and it does not necessarily mean that something´s fishy
wait a bit; u´ll hear frm them

i understand aman but the thing is police clearance is required when you sent down the papers and embassy just wnt to see a certificate that there is no record why would they do clearance again once its been submitted as a certificate,.
see when you went for an interview visa officer told you that she will finish everything within 2 weeks than why its taking more than that , they have a concern with your application same with mine , its been 2 months almost since we have sent down the passport , if my wife were to get the visa she would have been gotten by now , it should,ne be taking this much of time ,
ONCE THE POLICE CLEARANCE HAVE BEEN DONE WHY WOULD THEY DO IT AGAIN , DOES,NT MAKE ANY SENSE TO ME AT ALL BECAUSE POLICE CLEARANCE IS DONE AFTER CHECKING ALL THE RECORDS AND THEN THEY ISSUE A CERTIFICATE WHICH YOU PROVIDE TO EMBASSY SO WHY WOULD THEY DO IT AGAIN FROM THIER OWN SIDE
MY WIFE LIVED AT ONE PLACE ALL HER LIFE SO AGAIN WHY ITS TAKING THAT MUCH OF TIME
