understand aman but the thing is police clearance is required when you sent down the papers and embassy just wnt to see a certificate that there is no record why would they do clearance again once its been submitted as a certificate,.
see when you went for an interview visa officer told you that she will finish everything within 2 weeks than why its taking more than that , they have a concern with your application same with mine , its been 2 months almost since we have sent down the passport , if my wife were to get the visa she would have been gotten by now , it should,ne be taking this much of time ,
ONCE THE POLICE CLEARANCE HAVE BEEN DONE WHY WOULD THEY DO IT AGAIN , DOES,NT MAKE ANY SENSE TO ME AT ALL BECAUSE POLICE CLEARANCE IS DONE AFTER CHECKING ALL THE RECORDS AND THEN THEY ISSUE A CERTIFICATE WHICH YOU PROVIDE TO EMBASSY SO WHY WOULD THEY DO IT AGAIN FROM THIER OWN SIDE
MY WIFE LIVED AT ONE PLACE ALL HER LIFE SO AGAIN WHY ITS TAKING THAT MUCH OF TIME

even if the police clearance is submitted, still they have to do the background checks! that would invollve even the UK, as i my case!
and the visa officer never told me that it would be 2 weeks after my interview!! she said " a few weeks" after the interview!! i mean, they got my CSQ ( a quebec certificate) maybe somewat on 15-16th march, so they might be on the verge of finalizing mine!!
on the other hand, dont panic mate! just calm ur nerves down.. u will definitely hear frm them soon.. give it another week or so! and moreover, u have put an enquiry through anyways! so, just wait; ur wife would certainly get her visa soon.,
