the worst thing you can do to yourself is compare your application to someone else. The worst thing you can do is base your expectations on timelines that are 10-12 months old.

CIC makes if very clear that they will not respond to questions by fax unless there is actually a problem with the file. CIC does not work on our timelines... they work on theirs. For all you know, the Immigration Officer might have taken a 2 week vacation while your file sits on his desk! Perhaps they are working feverishly to get visitors visas processed within reasonable timelines for people, perhaps the final police clearances got held uo for no horrible reason - just a cerical one. CIC is not an exact science. I know we try and make it one, but it is fruitless.

You are going to make yourselves emotionally sick if you continue what you are doing. Try to sit back, take a deep breath and wait. In reality, there is absolutely nothing you can do to make this process go faster. Ever fax you send, every phone call you make, causes an immigration officer to stop processing a file to deal with your request. In reality... you make things go even slower!

I understand what is at stake... believe me, I understand.

did you send it with a courier that uses tracking numbers? If the passport has arrived at the embassy... then I would simply relax and wait.

I agree with Sharon....we need to wait and watch. I was thinking on the same line as she has stated above...and there are three case on this forum itself (don´t know how many others at New Delhi) who have the same timeline and waiting?? I think it´s not our application but its the process at New Delhi which is creating the delay.

go to the courier company, and confirm the delivery of the passport. If they can show date of delivery... you have answered one of your biggest questions. You will know that CIC has the passport. The rest is out of your control and influence.

you can spend every minute of your day wondering what immigration is doing, why they do it, why don´t they do it a different way, how come they have such proceedures, why, why, how, when...you can ask and ask and nobody will be able to answer you. All your wondering and worrying will not change one thing. For sure the embassy will not answer - they are busy processing applications.

Do not make yourself crazy - it will not help.

i agree with u sharon! i mean its not just our case! i know we r desperate, but it wont solve the purpose! we have no option but to wait and watch
and anonymous, there is nothing wrong with our application; its just the procedures that are taking long! i agree that u have seen people get the visa in a week; me too, i have seen them get in a week! but again, if we lose our sanity over it, there is no point!! we cant do anything at this moment, but wait
so, relax and calm down ur nerves! ur wife will get the visa soon!
and once it is clear that ur application is through by either a successful interview or an interview waiver, u have nothing much to worry! there can be nothing wrong with the application after that! worst-cum-worst scenario can be that they will delay the application! but still there is nothing wrong in it! dont be impatient; just relax! ur wife would be with u soon,....
