Subject: Canadian Minister/American Wedding
My American citizen fiance and I (Canadian) are currently going through the fiance visa application process. We are planning a wedding for later this year and i want a Canadian relative of mine to perform the wedding in the U.S. Is this possible?

not sure what american law requires. obviously you are intending to reside in the US. Fiance class is no longer available in Canada. worst case scenario... get married at city hall, followed by a ceremony with family, friends and the minister of your choice. that way, everybody is happy.

Marriage laws vary from state to state, so it depends on the state you are getting married in. In California the only requirement is that they be able to sign their name!
