Subject: recent marriage
My brother is an indian citizen working in united states on H1b visa, he had filed for canadian immigration under skilled worker category, has finished his medical and other formalities and now he has got the letter asking him to pay the landing fee within one month. He recently got married to a girl from india. In the letter they are asking also about any changes in status that is marrital status, now if we send the marriage certificate and other details of his spouce will the immigration get delayed significantly. Kindly answer our question.
Thank you and have a good day.

you really have no choice. if you do not declare the change in status you are committing fraud and may lose the chance to ever bring the spouse to Canada.

how much delay (in reply to: recent marriage)
my question was how much delay should my brother expect now because of the marriage, otherwise i think his process was almost complete apart from paying the landing fee.

I do not think anyone can say! I am sure there will be some confirmation of status change that will contain instructions and timelines. if it adds 3 months or 1 year...at this point there is not much that can be done to change it.

Yes the process will be delayed. Depends on the background and security check of his wife. Its very difficult to predict - 4 to 6 months would be my guess.

I know some case, where it is wise to apply spouse´s application at this time. It may add just 3 months...If you don´t then spouse has to go thru normal process and will take more than > 1 Yr.
Choice is yours.......
Wanna to be in this loop for another year and year or finish it in 3 months.....
One more point, It´s illigal to hide such important information from CIC. Think about it before doing or taking any descision which will impact your future prospect...

I suggest you do it IMMEDIATELY with all relevant documents, clean docs. Include all docs, leave no doubts. I strongly feel that it will be 3-5 monts....do it right now. Be positive. It works and I know people. Bottomline, be clean, clean and provide all docs. Clean again.
