Subject: It's been over a month
Hi everyone. I?ve been lurking here for a short while and decided to dive in.

I am a Canadian living and working in Korea with my Filipina wife of two years. After having been in Asia for the past 5 years, I?ve decided it?s time to return to Canada. My wife and I visited my family in Vancouver in September and we are both very nervous and excited about starting a new life there in the near future.

On February 18th I couriered our joint application package to CPC-M. A recent trace indicates that it was received and signed for on September 21st. My worry is that I have not yet received any acknowledgement of my application from CPC. Every timeline I have seen has yielded a one-month wait for an acceptance letter, a rejection, or a return of the package because of spaces not filled in, etc.

It has been two days shy of 6 weeks since CPC-M received my application to sponsor my wife and still no letter has come to my mailbox. Am I just being overly impatient, or have others had to wait longer than a month as well?

Hey Mike

I am a Canadian living in Poland with my wife and we sent our package March 5th and it was received March 8th. We appeared on E-client saying we are IN PROCESS from March 30th.Hopefully we get a letter from them this coming week.

You should have heard before we did. Maybe give them a few more days and then fax them. I don´t know what the delay might be.

GOOD LUCK and I will keep my fingers crossed for you

RACHUNEK

if u are a canadian livng outside canada, with ur spouse u are sponsoring, they do take a bit of time fr ur approval!! but 6 months is too much... do contact them mate by faxing or asking any of ur friend in canada to speak to a CIC Call Centre rep!!

Gosh Amy, I?m sorry about the mistake in my original post. It should read that it was received on February 21st as opposed to September 21st. It?s been 6 weeks, not 6 months.

Hi Rachunek. We?ve actually exchanged a few messages on another forum where I go by the name eflguy. It?s great that you?ve received feedback from CPC. Did you pay your fees by credit card and use a receipt number to access E-Client? I paid with a bank draft so I have no way of finding out anything until they send me something (hopefully not an entire package to correct). I guess I could take a trip to the bank and see if my bank draft has been cashed. I?m almost afraid to check. It should be interesting to compare timelines considering we sent in our applications within weeks of each other.

Thanks for the supportive responses.

Hi Mike

After reading your post I thought maybe it was someone from the other board.
I did pay by Internet and used my receipt number to check e-client. I had read that people could not access e-client using the receipt number but it works for us. It was a pleasant surprise to see that we are IN PROCESS....we are not too excited since the package can still be sent back for various reasons. We hope all is well and that the next thing we receive is sponsorship approval.

Check the bank and see if your draft has been cashed. I will keep you up to date on our progress. I really expected to see you post something about CPC Mississauga starting your application process before ours. I wish you the best of luck.

Keep in touch

BILL
