Subject: Letter of Invitation
  Hi,
I´m currently on a work permit & I would like to invite my parents from India to visit & stay with me for a couple of months. I was wondering if the Canadian High Commission in Delhi requires the letter of invitation to be notarized. I would appreciate it if someone could enlighten me with their experiences -or- knowledge.

Thanks in advance.

Personal invitations do not need a notorization. However you need to be careful on their documentation. i.e.:

1) Proof of travel : ticket booking for both with confirmed return date. If they are first time applicants make it a max of two months.

2) Proof of Funds : Your bank statement and information on your work and where you live.

3) Their funds (bank account etc.), property in India information

4) Undertaking from you that you are going to take care of their travel, stay and medical situation should anything happen. Also you are going to get medical insurance from them when they travel.

(Fax a copy of undertaking to Consulate they are planning to get a visa a day before they actually go for the visa. Fax numbers are available on CIC web-site; make sure you clearly spell their full name and Passport numbers).

Visiting Visa for my sister (in reply to: Letter of Invitation)
Hi , I am working in Canada for the past 1 and a half years. I would want my sister, an adult , working , unmarried, to come and visit me for 3 weeks. Can someone tell me if she would have chances of getting here. In the invite letter can I mention that I haven`t been able to get to India due to pre-occupation and so would want her to visit me ?

P.S: I haven`t applied for PR or citizenship yet
