I have been working as fulltime now under skilled worker here in Canada for 3 yrs now. During the processing of my application the immigration never asked me for bank statements or any proof of funds, I guess its because I have been working here already. Now I have my COPR and Immigrant visa already and I still need to exit Canada and re-enter again just for them to have a record of my landing, will the immigration officer still ask me for proof of funds? and what else will they be asking from me? I am landing by myself and currently here in Canada still working. Anybody that have almost the same situation like me? will be really greatful for your advise.

I don´t think you need proof of funds if you are already employed in Canada. just to make sure, i would take a couple of pay stubs with you when you land so the Officer understands that you are already self sufficient.

I am currently in the US on a student F1 visa. I sent my application for a skilled worker immigration just a few weeks ago to Buffalo. Now, I have the opportunity to go to Canda to continue my studies but I am concerned that if I entered Canada under a student visa I will be either violating the law since I already have an immigration application or I would be negatively affecting my application in Buffalo?
Should I need to be worried and therefore wait until I get the approval from Buffalo and then go to Canada or can I go to Canada now and apply for a change of address while I am there without affecting my application?

you can go to Canada now and it wont affect your application because you have a valid reason and a visa to enter the country. Just make sure you update them with your change of address. anyway you still need to file your application in Buffalo anyhow if you are applying for a skilled worker and your living in Canada already. If you already have a file number created by the immigration, just use that to log in to E-client online application and change your address using this website www.cic.gc.ca(: goodluck!!!

Thanks Joeanne,

Normally, how long does it take for a file number to be sent to me? and if I have been living in the USA for more than eight years, can I apply for the student visa in NY or should I get it from my country of origin.

Thanks again.
