  Spousal Sponsorship,

Timeline:
Confirmed received application: March 04, 2005
Sponsorship approved: March 23, 2005
AOR: ???

You told me to speed things up, I should have my wife send me the CSQ signed beforehand. She signed it and sent it to me.
Q1. She did not put a date next to her signature. What should I put when I receive it? That is, the date she signed it or the date I receive the CSQ form from Quebec?

Q2. Does it matter if everything on this form has my handwriting except for her signature?

Q3. On the CSQ, it asks my wife: "Married women must give their maiden name." Is that her dad´s family name or her mom´s or both? I ask because in the Philippines they sometimes ask to put maiden name also so they put 1) First name 2) Mother´s family name 3) Dad´s family name.

Example: Mary Smith Doe (Smith = Mother´s family name)
(Doe = dad´s family name)

Q4. You told me that 2 to 3 weeks after you received approval from Mississauga, you received the forms from Quebec. Was this 2 - 3 weeks from the date of approval from Mississauga or 2 - 3 weeks after Quebec receives the file from Mississauga?

For your information:

1. Put the date she signed the document.

2. It does not matter if YOU handwrote the forms as long as SHE signed them. This is what I did.

3. She must write the name that is written on her birth certificate.

4. As soon as you are approved by Mississ., Mississ. informs Quebec. I don´t know how it is done, but I know that it is very fast. It seems that it is a matter of 2 or 3 days. You can phone Quebec immigration and they can tell you if they already received the approval from Mississ. Usually, they are very nice and it is easy and fast to have them on the phone. You can always go to their office and hand them the document instead of mailing them. This way, you will save 2 or 3 days, because the mail is quite slow.

Anyway, Quebec is processing the application WHILE it is processed in Manilla. So you have time.

Good luck.

There is something I forgot to tell you. Once Misss. approves your sponsorship, they will send you

1. a letter to tell you that you are approved
2. the same letter or another one (I do not remember too well) in which they inform you what will happen next - that your wife´s application has been sent to CIC office where it will be processed, and that your "file" will be sent to Quebec for the Quebec sponsorship.

That´s all I am thinking of.

I hope that this clarifies your questions.

Try not to worry too much. When it is approved in Missis., it seems that the CIC office abroad if only concerned about medical and security, and that they don´t contect the genuineness of your relation.

Good luck, and keep me informed.

Her birth certificate has
First Name: (her given name)
Middle Name: (Her mom´s family name)
Last Name: (Her Dad´s family name)

The CSQ form has: Last Name(At birth)_______________________ First Name_________________________

Q1.
Where would I put the middle name?

I am sure Mississauga informed Quebec by now because I was approved as eligable to sponsor on the 23rd of March.
That is more than a few days now but I have yet to receive anything from Quebec. I am not too concerned since the 23rd of March was just before
the long Easter holiday. Must have slowed things down a bit.

By the way, I got the letter that says that I am eligable to sponsor on the 23rd of March. It also said that they will send the file to the Manila
visa office and also they will contact Quebec.

Q2.
By the way, where in Montreal do I go to send this file(CSQ and undertaking and $250 fee) in person?

Q3.
I called the calling centre and they said that I still need to pay another $975(remember I paid only $550 initially). Did you pay this thru the internet?
I may pay it using the internet. Which receipt will I have to send them? That is, will this be a receipt that I will receive by way of
email or is this something that is generated right after I submit my transaction?

Thanks for your help!!!

1. I think you should write the last name, and for the first name : first name and then middle name.

You should know that in Quebec, it is not common to have a middle name for French speaking Canadian.

2. The address in Mtl is

Service aux garants
Centre de service ? la client?le
285, rue Notre-Dame ouest, rez-de-chauss?e, bureau G-15
Mtl.

But don´t worry about that. With the forms you will have to fill, you will have an envelop with the address.

It is difficult to park in downtown Mtl. So go by metro or early in the morning. Check for the hours at 514-864-9191

3. I cannot answer this question because I paid everything at the bank upfront. So I sent the receipt with the application. Check all the documents you received to make the application. I suppose you could pay the balance the way you paid the $550 and send it the same way. But as I am not sure, please check at the calling center.

BTW, do you check www.cic.gc.ca,
English,
(at the right) click on application processing time
Processed outside of Canada
Application for permanent residence
Family class : spouses and partners

Then check Manilla. You will have an idea who long it will take to process your wife´s application.

For my wife, in Beijing, it was processed in the 30% of cases ...

Good luck.
