Subject: Please HELP!! (concerning PR application)
  Hello!!

I was just wondering if anyone could tell me what it means when they mail you the AIP letter and Decision Made letter at the SAME time?

Up until I checked the e-client status yesterday, (that´s how I found out that my application was received, in process, as well as decision made)we never heard ANYTHING from Immigration until then.

The e-client stated that they mailed both letters on April 7, 2005. My time line is as follows:

Immigration received PR application on Novemeber 5, 2004.
(never received an Acknowledge of Receipt letter)

Started processing application on February 9, 2005.

Notice of sending AIP letter and Decision Made letter on April 7, 2005.

The only way I had access to e-client was I had previous Visitor Records with Client # already issued. When I called CIC they said I could use that number to access the online service.

Anyway, sorry for this being so long....Just we NEVER heard anything from them what so ever. We anticipate the letters sometime next week, however, we still wanted to know if you think this is good news? Will I still have an interview. My husband is Canadian, I am American. We applied from within Canada. Any information will be greatly GREATLY appreciated. Thanks so much.

Good Luck to all of you.

Tina

The best thing you can do is wait until you actually receive the letter from CIC...

IF the "Decision Made" letter you receive includes information on how to finalize your application and become a landed resident, a request that you send in your passport, or something similar then they´ve finished processing your PR application. In which case...congradulations! You´re almost done, all that is really left is for you to arrange a time to go to the nearest CIC office and become landed.

The only other thing I could think the "Decision Made" letter may simply be referring to is them approving your husband as your sponsor. AIP and approval as a sponsor are generally sent at the same time. If this is the case, then you´ll have a bit more of a wait in becoming a permanent resident.

In all honesty, without actually seeing what your e-client says or seeing the letters there is not much more I could tell you. My husband sponsored me for permanent residence, but my application was handled as "Outside Canada"...so we had two different offices handling the application: Mississauga (who approved my husband as sponsor) and Buffalo (who processed my PR application). My husband´s e-client showed the status of both our applications and my e-client only showed the status of my PR application.
