Subject: Applicants from the US vs. Canada
Hi all, although applicants from the US and Canada all have to submit applications to the Buffalo office, I was wondering if there??s any time-wise difference in processing applications from the US and Canada, particularly after the initial assessment has been made. The reason I am asking is I saw some applicants from Canada with similar timeline as mine have gotten passport requests, but nothing has happened to my application yet. Any discussion/advice would be great. Thanks!

make sure you know who is sharing timelines under spousal sponsorship rather than skilled worker. big difference in time that you must wait.

Sharon I am sure he is referring to Skilled worker category only.

My understanding is that the application from inside Canada would be faster processed as it (RCMP record check) is an Internal thing.

But at the same time I think it depends from applicant to applicant as well. The processing time will proportionately increase with the number of countries the applicant has lived in plus each country takes its own sweet time, also, I guess a lot depends on persons background info which needs verification. People with limited employers and foreign travels will have adavantage.

Say what people?

Yes, Robinhood is right and sorry I didn´t make it clear it was for skilled worker category - well I guess we should only compare within not cross category. But I think what Robinhood said makes a lot of sense. Thanks to both of you though.

if your work experience and education are in Canada, it will take less time to verify those information.
