| Subject: Going Buffalo CIC personally to find status |

Hi Guys,
Can you please advise? I got the RPR Fee (Landing fee) request to pay the fee. Fee check reached CIC on March 11th. Since then I am waiting for my Passport request, but nothing came since then. I have to go to India on April 30th for a very urgent reason and will be back in July. I am thinking of going to Buffalo personally on April 14th Thursday to find out the status and if they have already mail the PP request, then get the Visa. Is it a good idea to go to Buffalo CIC? Has anybody done this before?
I have already sent faxes to CIC, but without any reply.

Mohit.
Your trip to Buffalo CHC is not advised for several reasons:
A) Security: You´d be turned back at the building gate.
B) No notification from CHC: Usually you need a sufficient reason to visit CHC like a note requesting you to come for visa. You have none and therefore you are most likely not to be entertained.
Unfortunately, if you have an urgent trip to make - notify CHC (send a fax that you are planning to go for trip) and then just have the visa process done upon your return.

Thanks for your reply. I will not go to CIC now.
But my medicals are expiring in June and I believe that I need to land before medical expiration. Otherwise I need to go for another medical (will delay the processing for another 6 months). Very tight situation for me.

do not assume anything about your medicals until CIC gives you instructions. they may not require you to take your exam again - we have had similar cases on this forum.

I agree. The CIC is clear. DO NOT come to the office in person. Such a visit could be detrimental. Have patience.

i think your pp request is coming soon. maybe just in a few days because they asked you for RPRF after a long waiting time. which probably means your background or security check is completed. as soon as they received your payment, you will get your visa.

Hi,
I am so worried right now because its been 14 months since we processed or PR. and Until now the I have not heard any from the immigration people. We´ve done our medical exams last October 2011 so its been 8 months.... Is it possible for me to contact the buffalo CHC? Please do advise me what to do.. Thanks
