Subject: Sponsoring my spouse - this is my problem.
  Hello all,

This is my first time on here. :-)

I recently sponsored my husband who is in Trinidad. So the process is taking place in Trinidad. Anybody have experience with the visa office in Trinidad?

We submitted everything including medical and the ROLF. We sent in pics and cards, you name it.

After 3 months, the e-client status is still saying "we started processing your application on January 7, 2005".

How long does the process take, does anybody know? Will they be asking for anything else?

I am so frustrated. :-(

Hello SW

I don`t have any experience in Trinidad , but I have been sponsored.

After you summit your application , it will take between 2 to 6 months to go through.

Within a month or so , you will see in the e-client a line saying "Decision Made" and it doesn`t say that much though ,
would be something like "We sent you a letter about the Decision *date date*....
Keep waiting , it is just matter of time.
Good luck

How long (in reply to: Sponsoring my spouse - this is my problem.)
Will, how long did your sponsorship take?

From the date the sponsorship was submitted to the date you entered Canada. How long did that take?

After they got my application took about 21 days to go through (i.e the sponsorship). I sent both application PR and Sponsorship to Ontario.
They made the Decision on the Sponsorship pretty quick and then they sent my PR application to Guatemala for further processing.
I am not in Canada yet , they are waiting the "Background checks" and they will review my application at the end of May.
They said that an interview is not required at this point which I think is a good thing.
It has been 4 months so far including Sponsorship and PR.

it should take about 2-4 months after the sponsorship is approved! and after it chanes to decision made, they dont write much either! mine changed last monday and they would just write that medicals have ben recieved and the office would contact me.
here´s my timeline :
Medicals done - 11th Dec. 2004
Applied at Miss. - 31st Dec. 2004
Approved - 19th Jan. 2005
Visa Office(New Delhi) starts processing - 3rd Feb. 2005
CSQ (family class) applied - 7th Feb. 2005
Interview - 3rd Mar. 2005 (successful!!!!) Passport kept by the Visa Officer
CSQ received by my sponsor wife - 14th March, 2005
E-cas changes to Decision made - 11th April, 2005

here the CSQ is a Quebec requrement and if u are not landing in Quebec, dont worry about it
so, i will be getting my passport back in about a week´s time.
so, just wait for a bit; u should hear from them soon...

Amy, the processing time in India is a lot less that in Trinidad though. I sent mine in a couple of days after you.
