Subject: Detroit timeline, Medical and interview
  Hi,
I applied for canadian immigration under skilled federal worker category on march 01, 2005 at buffalo office. Buffalo started working on my file on march 09, 2005. I included my husband. My baby was born this feb, 2005 and have also sent her all documents, fees and forms. I requested intially to be interviewed at detroit office. My questions are,
1. Do we all have to complete medicals before interview or can we go for medicals once interview is cleared.
2. What is usual timeline at detroit.
3. Are there others who applied in the same category at the time that I applied and have got their interview date.

Please reply as I´m really waiting anxiously.
Thankyou

I am not sure if you made a typo-error with the dates. If you applied only in 2005 march, it will be a while - anything from 9 -24 months - for your case to be finalized. You will get a file # first, then an initial assessment(IA) which will say of you need to have an interview or if additional documents are needed etc.

If interview is waived, you are looking at less than a year, if you have an interview it could well add up to 2 years. I applied in Dec 03, and am waiting for my interview to be scheduled right now.

Please keep in mind that :
1) You may not be interviewed at all.
2) If you are called for an interview it may not be in Detroit. Interviews are held at one of the following 4 Consulates: Detroit, NY, LA or Seattle. Every consulate has different timelines. For eg. KG applied in Dec 03 and is currently waiting for the interview to be scheduled in Detroit and I also applied in Dec 03 but am still waiting for my file to be transfered to NY.

Every case is unique and so its very difficult to predict timelines. You can get an average idea of the timelines by visiting www.yogi799.com

Correct dates (in reply to: Detroit timeline, Medical and interview)
Sorry I entered wrong date. I applied March 01, 2004. Rest of the dates are correct. My question is same that should we do the medical before interview or after interview?
