Subject: Do I need a lawyer? |

Hi,
I plan to apply for canadian permenant residence. I got a score above 67 as a federal skilled worker. I went through all required documents and feel that I should be able to handle everything by myself.
But, before I move forward, I´d like to hear your opinon: Do you think if I´d better off to use a immigration lawyer or not? Did most of you submit your case by yourself or most of the people used a lawyer?
Please help!
Thanks
Yang

(in reply to: Do I need a lawyer?) Do it yourself. Your lawers can only bring you more frustration for the money that you pay.

(in reply to: Do I need a lawyer?) I have a lawyer but do not see any significant advantage. You still prepare everything by yourself, even if you had an attorney. The only nice thing is that there is a stable address (the lawyers) in case you keep moving often!

(in reply to: Do I need a lawyer?) I think if you feel that you have everything in order than skip the lawyer. I didn´t use a lqwyer and everything went very smooth. I am waiting for passport request.

(in reply to: Do I need a lawyer?) The process is simple enough. One does not need a lawyer. Just follow the instructions on the CIC site and organize ur papers in order. Unless your case is very complicated (read divorced etc etc..), a lawyer does not add too many advantages.
