| Subject: can i apply in US and move to india |
I want to know whether i can apply in USA, and then moving to india will affect my perm residence process.
The reasom i am asking is my h1b 6 years will be expiring within a year, so if my approval takes more than a year ( as is currently) i have to goto india. Will it affect my process.

I dont think i can return to us for 1 year after my 6 year term expires. Is it possible to have interview at india.

no. if you apply in the US you must be able to appear for an interview. CIC will not help you obtain a temporary visa to attend. The only hope you would have is if they waive the interview... but that is a huge risk.

as long as your Labor Certification in the U.S. has been filed for over a year .. you can apply for a 7th year extension ... so you don´t have to go home to India ...

Apply for Canada PR in US, if interview is waived there is nothing to worry, if you need to appear in interview, transfer the file to India. Applying here in US will make the process faster but it would be more than 1 year so you can get any non-immigration visa.

I am in the same situation , don´t think too much just apply , just like I did, you can sure work out a way.
One is to get your status changed to F1 after 6 years, second
to leave US after 6 years and return to US if there is need for an interview on a business/tourist visa.
worst case have your file transferred to India.
Man , there is not point applying in India, it is taking
4-5 years now
