I got my landing permit and visa for canada. Currently I am a F1 status graduate student in US. I will graduate on Dec 2005. I have a valid I-20 but I do not have a VISA stamp in my passport. Can I re-enter in US from Canada just by showing my I-20, or do I need a VISA stamp to enter in US. Please let me know if anyone has any idea. Thanks.

(in reply to: Re-entry in US) as far as I know, you can´t. you have to book an appoitment at American Embassy in Canada where they will stamp your visa in you passport.
I´m in a similar situation but with my H1B. Before April 2002 it was possible to cross the border without a stamp but not anymore.
Good luck

(in reply to: Re-entry in US) If you can show your valid I-20 and an expired visa stamp, and as long as you travel to canada for less that 30 days you should be able to return to US with no problems. I know that this is true for H1B work visa holders.
In any case you should confirm this or other statements with your school´s International Student Services Office.

(in reply to: Re-entry in US) Well if you have a valid I94 and not the visa stamped
in your passport , you can visit canada for not more than 30 days and return to US. I am pretty sure I-20 will not work , still confirm this with your university international

Any requirement on the plan to other methods to come back to US? (in reply to: Re-entry in US) Hello,
I have one question. While I leave US and return back from Canadian US border, Can I take the flight? To take a plan will be much more convienent to me. Or I can only take the bus or train?
Thanks.
