Subject: time spend outside canada
  i m living in canada for last two and half years as PR. i travelled to my country recently and no one checked my PR card (air line or immigration)while i was leaving canada. when i got to my country no one stamp my passport.how cic gona count my time i send abroad? in this forum someone mentioned that they swip the card at the airport to check the physical appearance in canada but this dosent happen to me.does anyone knows how the system works?

ok, there is a computer chip on your PR card, it restores all your information

Not sure if they link up their record with your ticket info with the airline.

BTW, do you know that recently a flight from Canada was carrying two passengers who were in the US no-fly list was not allowed to land in US. How did the US airport authority knew about the passengers before it was landed in US ? Man, believe me, they have a smart way of doing the things. So, do not assume that no body knows where you are.

When you enter canada you are asked for how long you were absent.
