Subject: Full Time Equivalent - Canda |

I have a Canadian attorney and he insists that I cannot apply for Canadian independent category permanent residency unless I have at least one year of full time experience. I have about seven years of all part-time experience (over four years of full-time equivalent experience). However, he said I need to work or have worked one year on an actual full-time basis. Is this accurate?
Your comments will be appreciated.

(in reply to: Full Time Equivalent - Canda) Yes it is true you need one year full-time work experience.

(in reply to: Full Time Equivalent - Canda) I don´t think your lawyer is right. If you read guide to immigration available online IMM EG7000 on the CIC website on page 4 it states:
Minimum requirement
For your application to be considered, you must meet the minimum requirement of at least one year of full time (or full-time equivalent) paid work experience.
Full-time equivalent implies part time job experience, I think. So ask another lawyer just in case and let me know, my situation is similiar to yours. Hope it helped
