Subject: Urgent Help. Moving Car to Canada
Dear All, I am about to move (in a week or so) my truck to Canada in a week or so when I move there. I have US registration and insurance. I am wondering if it is ok to have US insurance until I get the truck registered in Canada. If not, how to get temporary coverage for, let us say, a month or so till I transfer the registration and driver´s license to Canada. If anyone has info or experience in this matter, please help.

Yes US registration is valid in Canada. You should be fine importing it and changing over the registration within 30 days.

Thank you Mr Deepak. I hope it is a simple matter. I am just worried that I might run into probs that I am unaware of. But then I only need to drive 150 miles from the border till I reach my destination. Once I reach it, I will park and try to get the documentation changed over to Canada as fast as I can.
