Subject: Parent sponsorship and tourist visas |

Hi,
I am one of those waiting in line to have the sponsorship of my parents approved - with no end in sight. My parents are the only family I have - I am single and far exceed any requirements they have in order to get my parents to join me here, but appearantly only those married or with children have the right to have a family close to them.
Since the processing times are horrific, I was wandering if my parents can apply for tourist visas while we wait for the sponsorship application to go through. I know some countries forbid entry while an application for permanent residence via sponsorship is in process, and I was wandering if Canada does the same.
I would truly appreciate any feedback and I thank in advance all those that can give me any answers.

(in reply to: Parent sponsorship and tourist visas) Well then why not apply for the tourist visa right away...What are you waiting for??
Did u read Immigration minister Mr. Volpe´s speech in which he said the new policy being implemented would allow multiple entry visas for long term for the parents.
By the way which country would they be applying from?
