Subject: for sharon please
My spouse completed her graduation from university as a private candidate(India). She was not a regular student of any affiliated college. Is she eligible to score points for adaptability or not.
Thanks

She may not qualify for full points (corresponding to her level of study). However she will qualify for some. Make use of a qualification assessment agency. What they do is assess your qualification (from the institute she attended) comparable to a local Canadian or other acceptable comparable Indian institute.

So let us say she completed Masters however it may be comparable to only Bachelors level of a comparable acceptable university degree so she will then at least get points for bachelor?s level and so forth.

It does not matter if the degree was obtained through part time or full time studies. If I remember correctly, her degree would contribute 5 points.

Am not sure if Sharon is right. Degree is considered a degree whatsoever way you obtain. The only possible concern is that if it was a 3 or 4 years program!! This 3 or 4 year term is important because it adds to your years of education, i.e., 12+3 (=15 yrs study) or 12+4 (=16 yrs of study). Points are based on these....I thought so.

Thanks

Check her certificate. If University does not write anything whther it is regular or private then you send it. If there is not checked then you can get 3 to 5 points for her study.
also see if she completed 12+3 or 12+4 years study in university.
