Apply as Skilled Worker

Subject: Apply as Skilled Worker

I just wanted to inquire about my situation. Right now I´m currently waiting to be qualified for a traineeship experience in Canada. I´m doing it through AIESEC, in international student organization that posts perople from traineeship anywhere in the world.

However, i am interested in applying for a Skilled Worker Application. What if in the middle of my application, I am suddenly matched with an employer in Canada for a traineeship. How will this affect my application? Can I leave and accept the traineeship and yet still continue my immigrant application? I hope you can give me an advise on this.

Thanks!

Which country are you planning to apply (for immigration) from?
How soon do you think you will get an internship?
How long will the internship last in Canada?

Check the CIC website (www.cic.gc.ca) for the average processing time for immigration from your home country and Canada. If your internship can last minimum 1 year (i.e. you get visa for at least 1 year) you can apply for immigration from Canada.

I´m from the Philippines so while I´m here waiting for a match from AIESEC I can apply here.

I´m hoping to get myself matched and have a job there by July, September at the latest. Usually internships last anywhere from 1 year to 1 year and 6 months.

Although AIESEC sounds promising, I´d also like to be able to have a plan B so that I can leave as soon as possible. My plan A would really be to go on with the AIESEC program and apply for immigrants visa when I´m there. However, I would like to know if I can also apply from here and then if I receive an AIESEC posting in the middle of my application process, I can, in the meantime get a temporary working visa status and accept the job. And then when I´m there, I´ll continue the application process for the immigrant status.

Is this possible?
