Subject: CAIPS NOTES!....again...
  Greetings everybody,
I have a question to those of you familiar with this caips notes process.
I requested my caips notes on March 14th, 2005 and recieved them on April 21st, 2005 (which was yesterday). The last (and only) Bring Forward Date (BF´D) indicated in the notes is March 10th, 2005.
Here is my question: Why wasn´t the BF´D changed/updated after/on March 10th? What should I make out of it?

Has any of you encountered the same issue?
Thank you so very much to all of you and good luck to all of us,
Ol

I have came across many similar cases recently, and no body had an answer of it.

What was in front of BDEC and below SEC in your CAIPS notes? Have you done your medicals? If all required information have been received by the date you indicated no more BF´D is required.

I hope I´ve understood your question correctly:
1) There is PSDEC 1 above BDEC 0
2) Status SEC CRIM 3

They waived my interview in September, 2004 and I sent in all the remaining documents (including medicals) in the end of November, 2004.

I did not quite understand what you mean by saying "If all required information has been received by the date you indicated, no more BF?D is required."?

When will they be looking at the file again then?

Thank you so much for taking your time to answer.

They actually set a BF´D in your application is not complete and needs more decisions to be made for it. I (by mistake) thought you may have passed all the stages and your passport request might be on the way. But as long as BDEC is 0 and SEC is 3 your processing is still incomplete. SEC check uasually is done by other Canadian office called CSIS and may take so long. They just wanna make sure you are not of any kind of secrurity risk for Canada. If you did not hear from them for a while you may send a letter or fax to them and ask for the status of your application.

Thank you so much! I guess it´s the first time I am seeing a coherent answer to this question. As the other person in this forum noted, there are a lot of people with such questions, but hardly any answers.

What is not clear to me is why then they have not changed this BF´D date if there are more decisions to make? And how long might it take for them to do this security check (given that I provided all the police certificates)?

Thank you so very much, indeed!

1. I really do not know why haven´t set a new BF´D for your file.

2.CRIM (criminal) decision is mostly covered by the police certificates you provide, however, as I said before the security decision is something different and conducted by different government agencies.
If you are from/visited a middle east country or you have done military service and have been involved in any war or ... this may take very long. Cross you fingers and wait for a few more months and if nothing happened contact them and ask via fax or mail.
