Subject: Interview Dates
  Hello,

I would like to know of any body has applied through CHC Damascus office in early 2001, and what is happening up there to the cases which are still pending?
When can we expect an interview, since I check their page regualrly and send them emails to no vail.

Thanks.

Dear Mario,

I applied from Damascus on April 2001, receiving a letter for IELTS result and complementary docs on June 2003, and sending a complete set of required docs on Oct.2003. I have been waiting for 39 months without any news.
Please check following address for processing times throughout the world: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/department/times-int/2003/02-skilled.html
If you have any further information about this matter please don´t hesitate to contact me through my e-mail address.

Best regards
Fazel

Hello,

Thanks for your interesting information although it added to my frustration.
Matter of fact, I received from, ahhh lets say my recent representative, an email informing me that a letter from Damascus office has been sent on behalf of another person but with same case. This letter says that they experiencing a backlog situation from as early as 1999. They expect to start MOST (NOT ALL) - propbably family class, applicants of 2000 at the end of 2004, and they cannot predict when they could start processing after 2000 cases.
What should this be supposed to mean? Torture!
Unless my dear representative made it? Who knows?
But I´m sure the language of the letter belongs to CHC. You know.

Regards.

Hi,

Your received information seems right at the first view because there are some applicants who have been waiting since 2000, but on the other hand it seems wrong as you can find some applicants who received their interview waiving after 26-32 months, and so by reffering to the mentioned internet address.
It made me worry because if they want to start a part of family class applicants of 2000 at the end of 2004, they will start our cases "Independent skilled worker" of 2001, maybe at 2006 supposedly, anyway I am so sorry for this awful process which is wasting our life countinually.

Best regards
Fazel

Retire (in reply to: Interview Dates)
Hello,

The problem is that I know many friends of mine who got it in less than 2 years, and who are less qualified than me in terms of education, work experience, English, and funds. This had been the case before 3 or so. Now I see Canada is prefering retired useless people. Maybe they should advertise on their web something like: "Wellcome to Retirement Home, want to land and benefit from first-class social services while you stay at you original home, come and apply, we will give you a priority over those independent applicants." I could be unfair. Probably we will be interviewed at age of 60s.

Hi again,

I confirm whatever you mentioned, and so I feel that they are really unfair about their case processing, as there are high qualified people who has been waiting for years and low qualified ones got their interview waiving after a while, anyway I am as pesimist as you are.
Have you ever received any letter from embassy asking you for IELTS and extra documents during this period, when?
How long have you been waiting for this purpose? It seems you applied before me (April 2001) because you are more angry than me, however we are passenger of the same boat, wasting our life for nothing!! I think it will be better to find a way to get rid of this hateful waiting which is making me crazy, Do you agree with me? what remedy should we take?

Best regards
Fazel

Not fair at all (in reply to: Interview Dates)
Hello,

You are right, I´d applied before you, and my case processing started on Jan 2001. I was requested to send new forms and IELTS in March 2003, and sent them all.
But still no answer. I´m so angry because I see many people around me whom I thought they will not qualify, at least to get it before me, and now they are almost Canadians. Most of them returned back because they didn´t like the life there. But I´m the one who dreamed of to be there forever. Actually, I intend to marry from a Canadian, and become a sincere citizen.
By the way, if you don´t mind I want to know where you currently live, and what´s your work? I´m currently in Lebanon and work as a damn teacher, whileas my profession is IT.

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Hi,

OK, Jan 2001 means 3 months sooner than me, it is awful, I can understand you.
Regarding people who couldn´t keep living in Canada, I should tell you that it depends on many factors for which they immigrate for instance somebody who wants to continue his/her academic study, will find Canada as a very good place for this purpose but you know it is an idealistic view to the life because it will be possible if you pay a lot. As far as I know immigrants need to work hard mostly, a large number of them have the problem of language and of course lacking Canadian work experience can nulify all of their previous work experience!!!
On the other hand there are many good advantages that make Canada a very good country for people like us who have a strong decision of living there, I found hardworking as a key factor guaranteeing all success wherever you live.
Oh, that is nice, I have heard that Lebanon is a very nice country although I have never visited, and so being a teacher is lovely and IT is so interesting according to me.
Regarding me, I can tell you many thing privately, so I welcome you to continue our discussion through e-mail, I didn´t found your e-mail in above description, my e-mail address is: fazel.ghorbanimehr@irabb.com

Best regards
Fazel
