Subject: IELTS English/French Questions
  Hi Guys,

I have a question. (My timeline is the following: Applied in Aug. 04, AOR in October.)

I just received a form that asks to prove my proficiency in English and French, to which I was surprised since I graduated from American 4-year University and enclosed a copy of my diploma with all other docs.
Anyhow, I don´t mind taking English test but I don´t know why they ask about French (I´m not applying in Quebec province.) Or is it a customary to provide an option for either?

Thanks in advance,

I´m completely discouraged. I just re-read a letter that they sent and it says: English AND French.
I indicated in the application that my knowledge of French was minimal (1 year in High school), I never thought they´d want me to take test in French...

It means they are not satisfied with the evidence you provided, cic sux, fuck up mind sometimes. they don´t use their brain, only base on manual!!!!
If people can´t graduate from college, how the hell they can survive in English speaking countries.

if you claim points for english and or french you must be prepared to verify why you think you are entitled to the points. You can write an affidavit, or you can take the tests. If the total points are ´iffy´ perhaps they want to insure that the language proficiency is there. If english and french are not your country´s native tongue then it is a reasonable request - especially if you have claimed some proficiency in both languages.

Departure Bay, you should be thankful they use a manual. everyone gets treated exactly the same. there is nothing to guess and you do not need to worry if it is a good day or a bad day for the Immigration Officer.

What you can do is submit your transcript of records from primary, secondary, college and underline the english subject you took up. Also, make a covering letter justifying your english proficinecy by attaching your school transcript of records. It might help...
