Hi there,
From the sounds of it, my partner and I are in a bit of a sticky situation when it comes to immigration to Canada.
My partner is 20 and a resident of The Netherlands. He has only a year´s worth of university, and no (official, just freelance) job experience.
Me, a Canadian resident (born and raised) has been on ODSP for years and cannot go off at this time. From the sounds of it we only have 2 immigration options: Student & Family.
The problem with student is that it´s a very expensive process for him. As I understand, he must have $10,000 canadian to his name along with the money to pay tuition and he is not allowed to work inless it is school related.
Family would mean that I would have to be supporting him and that is just not possible. If he were to live with me my disability would even go down. I´m not even sure if we could apply for conjugal partner as it isn´t like there´s an immigration barrier.
I thought it would be a bit easier than this =( Could you please shed some light on some options for us.

(in reply to: Disabled CAD RES with International boyfriend) dear jelly... I think the reason you are not getting any help is because we do not know what to say. I would suggest the assistance of an immigration consultant. we do not have enough expertise to give you reliable answers.
