No letter from Buffalo yet

1) How long it takes to transfer the file to Los Angeles?
2) Do they do anything (process) in between? (e.g. background check?..)

I´m exactly in the same situation as you are. Actually, I´m glad that I´m not the only one not to receive confirmation of file transfer yeet, since on other forums I saw people say that their files were transferred in early March and their IAs were in November. My CAIPS notes showed BF´d date in February, but my lawyer says that they are always behind and we should receive confirmation of file transfer any week now. At least definitely no one with IA in October-November have received interview dates yet. I don´t know if they perform any background check during this time, but I´ve heard about people receiving visas at the time of interview if they had all their meds and police clearances done, so it may be that they try to do everything before interview. Hope this helps.

Hi Sasha,

I didn?t get the CAIPS notes; does it say why they ask for interview?
What is BF ?

Hi, Nobody
Yes, CAIPS notes show the reason for an interview. Mine say that it should be conducted to assess my work experience when I studied in the university. BFd date is the date your file must be opened by an immigration officer if it has not been opened before. I guess it pops up on his screen. You might want to order CAIPS notes too to be better prepared for an interview. I think you must go to CAIPS.com or something like that. My lawyer did it for me so I´m not sure how you do it yourself. Search the forums - it has been discussed hundreds of times.
