Hyperthyroid, could this prevent me from the PR?

A couple of months ago I was diagnosed with Hyperthyroid. During the same time I got a letter from Buffalo post asking for my medical exams. I got a report from my doctor stating that I suffer Hyperthyroid, that I am taking pills and that I am healthy otherwise.

I had the immigration medical test done and of course I provided the doctor with my medical report. I asked that doctor if he though that the problem with my thyroid could prevent me from getting the PR and he said that he did not think so, but he was not sure.

For the record, Hyperthyroid is a very manageable disease and very common in women.

My concern is if this illness could prevent me from getting the PR. If you happen to have any idea about it I would like to know it. Thanks.

No (in reply to: Hypertiroid, could this prevent me from the PR?)
Normally this would not be a problem. Hypertiroid, as you know is not a disease that would kill you.... You are still able to work and do your work duties normally just like a person w/o hypretiroid.
I really don´t see that they would dissalow you of coming to Canada.

I applied to become an Australian Perminant Resident a couple years ago. I too suffer from hypothyroidism. This did not stop me from receiving my PR status. As you know - you may be on medication for the rest of yoru life - but it costs like $5 a month.
I wouldn´t worry about it.

i need help (in reply to: Hypertiroid, could this prevent me from the PR?)
hi , my name ivan, 28 years old, male, born and lived in indonesia.
i got hypertiroid in my body since 1996. i mean, that was the first time i got my health checked. so it could be that i had already hypertiroid for many years before. or maybe since i was born.

in 1996, the doctor said, that yes, i need a medical treatment, he gave me a pills (PTO ?), for 6 months, but due to some reason, i only consume that pills for 3 months.

last week, i felt something wrong with my eyes, its getting worse so fast. i go to the local public hospital, and the doctor ask about any possibilitiesm if i had a hypertiroid. since then, i got my hy[pertiroid checked (again) with blood sample, of course.

this is the print out: i got my tiroid normal. but, but, I DONT BELIEVE IT.
i still feel the same situations just like the first time in 1996. body trembled, sweat , etc. ang it goes worse to my eyes (anothe doctor said, it can be worse to the eyes), and i feel it to..,

i had already spent a lot of money for this local hospital. but i didn´t trust the result of their system to my helath.

i´m done, i still suffering , this hypertiroid and my left eyes. but, if somebody´s out there, knows about a cheaper pills for this ill, please let me know, and for my eyes too...

thank you very much...
