Well that´s what everyone is screaming about on this forum... status... status... status...

I just hope CIC would have a better online system to give applicants more precise information on their applications...

At least you can call Paris and find out status... at Buffalo we can´t even do that...

My 2 cents:

Have you ever ordered your CAIPS printout? It can be quite helpful in most cases.
One more thing. I hate to say this but I have seen some obvious signs of discrimination in PR application processing. Normally, the most time consuming part of the processing is background/security checks. In most cases, CIC initiates this check right after selection decision. In some other cases they might delay it for several months (actually I have seen an application whose security check had begun 6 months after medicals). I do not care why they do so or whether it´s intentionally or unintentionally. But it certainly delays your application just for NOTHING. Getting CAIPS notes will be helpful in the sense that you can find if the security check has been started. If it´s a while since you have done your medicals and there is no sign of initiation of security check in your CAIPS, you must contact your MP and ask him/her to ask for an update on your file. There have been a few cases in which this has worked well.
Good luck.

I had my application in the entrepreneur class and it´s only been in process since last Oct.so I don´t expect any news before this summer / fall. I´m not in a hurry, I´ve set myself a timeframe and if CIC can´t meet my timeframe there are other ( legal ) ways to start my business over there .

we called Paris today. It helps that my guy is fluent in french because he got past all the ´we don´t accept phone inquires´.

We are having serious problems. Our file number has disappeared off e-client. There appears to be huge mix ups in the Paris office. (please note that our file was a screw up from day one so do not be un-necessarily alarmed) CIC cannot find our file! We are at the waiting for PP request stage.

Apparently, there have been some administrative changes at the Paris office and the transition has not gone smoothly - perhaps that explains some of our unusual delays.

At the end of 2 long phone calls, we still do not have resolution. However, we have found a kind soul in Paris who promises to sort it all out for us. We are to call back at a specified time on Wednesday. The only nice thing about today was the officer said to my guy that ´he is very happy to see someone like me in his country´.

I am resisting the urge to freak out. R seems confortable with the answers he got and the commitment from the officer to help so I am holding on for dear life until Wednesday.

Paris is a Farce (in reply to: to the Paris gang)
While planes from India and China are landing in Vancouver with happy spouses whose sponsorships took from between 1 and 4 months, my sponsorship is heading over the horizon towards one year. Sort of makes a person wonder, doesn´t it. (Check out processing time for Beijing and New Delhi)
