Subject: DELF vs. TEF: proving French abilities
The CIC strongly recomends that to prove one´s abilities in French to take the Test d´evaluation de francais (TEF). I have already acquired the D.E.L.F. (A1-A4) in 1998 in Quebec City. Does anyone know of its relevance for the CIC? I also have a degree in French from an American public university. I am basically trying to figure out if I need to go through the hassle and cost to take yet another test (TEF) to show my French language abilities. Anybody who knows something regarding this?

is DELF equivalent to TEF?
If so, then nothing to worry...

Thansk for responding. From what I can gather from several websites, DELF has been downplayed in responce to the TEF, which was created in 1998, the year I obtained the DELF. The DELF is created by the French Ministry of Education, where the TEF is made by a different department. The DELF can never expire. The tests and formats seem awfully similar, but they are not in fact the same test. That is why I am curious.

Got full points for IELTS (9, 8, 7, 7). I need one more point. Is it possible to claim one point for ONLY READING in french at BASIC level? I have one continuing education certificate. How likely I will get request for TEF?
