| Subject: wait for interview schedule after file transferred |

my file was transfered from buffalo to new york consulate in feb 05. in march 05 they asked me for FBI police clearance report which i sent immediatelt. Am waiting for my interview date. my friends who applied along with me have their interview in may 05. how long should i wait for my interview date? is it wise for me to make a request to the new york consulate regarding my wait period for interview? pl. advise.

Hey rohit how do you know your file was transferred from buffalo to NY..did they send u a letter or did u find it in the NY´s office website or did u get it thru caips..please let me know..and also ur timelines..

i got a leter from buffalo stating that file was transferred. here are the timelines.
jan 04 - application sent
feb 04 - file number received from buffalo
sep 04 - letter from buffalo saying interview required in new york
feb 05 - file transfered from buffalo to new york
mar 05 - letter from new york asking for FBI clearance
today - waiting for interview date from new york.

Thanks for your timeline desperate, I know how it feels, but yea dont ask and make unnecessary queries to your NY office. They will inform you of your interview date. In the meanwhile try to get ur CAIPS notes (from caipsnotes.com or some agency) that way you know why they have scheduled your interview. And you can find CAIPS interpretation codes in this forum to decipher or decode CAIPS notes. Good luck to you..

STILL waiting to hear from Buffalo regarding file transfer. Have sent Buffalo letter and a fax to inquire about my file but no reply as yet.

Hey, Kenny,
Don´t want to be rude, but where are you from? The thing is, I´m in the same situation as you are, only I´m waiting for my file to be transferred to LA. It´s been 7 months since my IA, and still no news. My lawyer said that they perform background checks before the file is tranferred, and if the authorities in your country do not cooperate, it might take pretty long time. I´m from Russia.
