Hi,

At least a year after transfer.

Patience is the key.

My Real Good Friend jahmal,

The time starts from the date mentioned on the ´File Transfer Intimation Letter´ to the applicant.

Hope this helps my Real Good Friend jahmal.

if trasfered to buffolo is it .. (in reply to: File Transfered to New York in May)
if transfered to bufolo is it an automatic Interview? or not necesarely?

From reading the canadian immigration website I understood that the case is processed in my country of residence - which in this case is US.

My case has been opened in buffolo on Feb 20 2004 - does it really mean I have to expect at least a year to process? My wife is in Canada, I am here.... waiting a year is a long time for a family.

Hi,

After initial assesment at Buffalo, the file is transfered to the nearest location to the applicant. CIC has topologicaly divided the region to better serve. So, if you are in and around NY (for example), then Buffalo transfers your file to CIC NY after initial assesment.

Now, the backlog at CIC NY is of approx. 1 year. Meaning, it takes one year to re-asses your file at CIC NY for the interview decision. It is not necessary to have the interview.

As I mentioned, the sequence of the process is-
1) Submission of the file at Buffalo
2) Initial assesment by Buffalo
3) After successful IA, Buffalo transfers the file to the nearest location to the applicant´s residence
4) Re-assesment for the interview decision by CIC

Hope this helps.
