Guys please help to understand
I did my medicals in Oct 04 and waited untill Jan 05 when I wrote a fax to Buffalo asking update on my case. They replied with a small note that medicals received but background check in progress and I need to send proof of funds. I did what they asked for in Jan 05. My e-status was still showing in process.
I wrote another fax 3 weeks back and today it changed to in process but medicals received.
So what does that means. Are they done with background check and I can expect PP request any day or still a long wait?

have you paid your ROLF? if not, they will still be requesting that step. You are likely in the middle of a background check. All embassies are saying they cannot predict how long that will take.

yes, I have paid ROLF in Oct 04 when I sent my medicals. Last year when I called Ottawa medical center, I got the confirmation that they have received my medicals and everything is ok. Surprizing, it took them 7 months to update this information.
Can anybody tell me how long it takes to get PPR after this update (Medicals Received)? It´s almost 17 months since I applied for PR. I hope CIC would reply to my second fax in the same way as they did to first one.

you may be able to receive pp request in this week. if not, still a long waiting time.

I had my medicals request in November 2004 and I did the medicals in jauary and sent it to them.
Alsong with that I sent the ROLF and proof of funds and employment papers. They asked for FBI Clearance and PCC from India. I got it all and sent it by end of February.
After this I got my PP request on April 7th. I have sent my passport last week and now hope to get it done...
This is just a time line idea for you... I have applied at buffalo and I am currently residing in Canada.
Now looking in your case... you should be getting it anytime... It depends on your background and where you are from. Background check can really take a hell of a long time. Ideally its upto 6 months. Did you get the RCMP clearance done( if you are in Canada)

I am in the US and got AOR in Jan 2004. I got IA in Sept 04 and interview was waived. India and Uzbekistan PCC were sent along with application and US PCC in Dec 05.
I guess my background check from Uzbekistan is taking so much time. These guys in CIC become cautious when you stay in one of those countries that have some "STAN" in their end.
Anyways I am happy that my case is almost done.
