Subject: Final Doubt
Dear Sharon/Salah and to all experts:

I did my MBA from India and the course duration was one year. Whether it will be considered as a Masters?

The certificate clearly shows “Master of Business Administration".

Sharon/Salah, kindly clear my doubt.

Regards,
Rao

If your question is from the score point of view, it is most likely will be considered so. But if you are aksing from the employment point of view, then it depends on the accreditation of the institute. This is only can be know when you apply for a registration with one of the regulation bodies in Canada.

What is your undergraduate qualifications? Profession?

Saleh

Dear Saleh:

Thank you Saleh for your kindness and speedy response. My question was towards Immigration scoring point of view. Not for employment purpose. I did my BA at undergraduate level. About myself, I am presently working as a Branch Sales Manager at Hyderabad-India.

Saleh, Once again thank you very much.

Regards,
Rao

In the immigration point calculating system it clearly says the number of years you need to have education to claim the points.

"Obtained a master?s or Ph.D. and completed at least 17 years of full-time education or full-time equivalent studies" this gets you 25 points.

so if you have 17 years of education you can claim 25 points

10 (school) + 2 (High school) + 4(university) + 1(Master) = 17 thus you can claim 25 points and your MBA is valid masters degree.

I believe that BA in India is 3 years therefore his total years of education is 10 + 2 + 3(BA) + 1 (MBA)= 16

I believe you will get 22 points. But if the BA you did was 4 years then you get 25 points.
