Subject: The PROCESS - spouse sponsorship |

What are the exact steps involved in the process:
Oct. 2003 My Canadian wife applied to sponsor me through Toronto Office.
Dec. 2003 Received notification that she is approved as a sponsor and my flies will be sent to Buffalo.
Feb 20. 2004 CIC website shows that Buffalo started my process.
I sent all paperwork required and the medical test. I did NOT send the background check, and did not send the landing fee yet.
What are the next steps? when can I expect to hear from them? Is there anyway to just call and find out?
what are the next steps?
Thanks,
Toni

(in reply to: The PROCESS - spouse sponsorship) I see that there are quite a few spouse sponshorships started in Feb through Buffalo who have not heard anything. I have been waiting since late April, so you are ahead of me, but I think you should send in all your background checks as soon as you can. I have been sending Buffalo all my police checks as soon as I get them rather than waiting for them to ask me. You really don´t want to get a letter from them asking for things, it just delays the process. In regards to the landing fee, I heard it is best to pay it upfront (that way they don´t need to write and ask for it which again causes delays). Please let us all know when you hear something from Buffalo.
Cheers,
