Subject: Notarized copies vs. straight-up normal copies |
As per subject, I am confused regarding which documents need to be notarized. Notarized copies of current contract and notarized copies of certificats, but anything else have to be notarized?

(in reply to: Notarized copies vs. straight-up normal copies) I am confused about this as well - I´m from a country where just about everything has to be notarized and a plain copy is just a piece of paper. However, the checklist clearly says "photocopies" except for the few documents (as pointed out by you) that require notarization. Most likely I will send the notarized copies anyway since it´s just 2$ a piece, but someone else might have different opinion...

notarization (in reply to: Notarized copies vs. straight-up normal copies) Helen, thanks. Good to know I am not alone. NJ means New Jersey? I´m in Ohio.
Anyway, so do you take the thing to be copied to a notary, ask them to copy it and notarize it, and pay the two dollars? Or, do you copy before hand?
Thanks again.

(in reply to: Notarized copies vs. straight-up normal copies) I had the same problem and I was in Canada...
I cut a deal with a lawyer and paid CDN$60 for all the documents. say about 30 pages... usually its around $20 per page.
The laqyer was good... I took the photocopies along with the originals and he verified it and stamped and signed all of them...
If you can get it notarized... make sure you get all the docs notorized... even all the pages of your passwort... and even all the papers you think it may not be useful..
