| Subject: CAIPS inter - what is 'EDE' and 'referral action'? |

Hi everyone,
I?ve got my CAIPS (finally!), but there are some very cryptic things there?
My time-line:
Applied to Buffalo: Oct 2003
AOR: 03 Nov 2003
Interview waiver, medicals request: 24 Aug 2004
RPRF, Medicals: Sept 2004
We haven?t heard from Buffalo since then.
Now CAIPS says:
23-Sept-2004: Referral required for PI only
20-Oct-2004: Pulling file for EDE bucket
29-Mar-2005: To EDE team for referral action for PI
07-Mar-2005: referral sent electronically for pi
So, what is EDE and what do they mean by ?referral action??
Here http://www.cic.gc.ca/manuals-guides/english/om/2002/op/op02-42e.html it says that EDE is ?excessive demand exempt? but what does it mean in my case?
I figure PI is the primary applicant (?)
Any insight will be appreciated?
P.S. I am and my wife both currently in Canada, working on our PhDs
