July 2002: applied to sponsor my parents, 2 brothers and 1 sister
October 2002: application accepted Mississauga
Dec. 3rd 2002: application received CIC London
October 5th 2004: Interview in Abu Dhabi- the officer declined 1 brother who was 24 and not full time student @ the time of the interview.
October 6th 2004: fax was sent to CIC London to withdraw the rejected brother from the application.
March 20 2005: all background checks are complete
April 13 2005: Medicals sent by CIC London + request for up-to-date police clearance from UAE Police.
April 27 2005: Medicals sent back by the doctor.
April 28 2005: police clearance was received @ CIC London.
May 16 2005: PP request sent by CIC London

Congrats to you to. I know, it was un expected to have the PP request less than a month from the date medicals are sent.
Lina: do you live in the UAE? if yes did you choose to get the visas stamped @ Abu Dhabi or CIC London.

No in fact I´m now in trouble, no just kidding... I´m now on a visit in Canada, either I´ll send my PP to CHC London and do landing from US borders, or heading to UK to have it stamped. Still can´t take a decision which way better.
in whole cases it´ll take 10 working days, i.e. 15 days, whether in Canada or in UK.
You know something, I wonder why you can get it in Buffalo the same day, while in UK it takes 10 working days!
I have no idea that they do stamp the PP in UAE, as if I heard that they usually send their PP to UK for stamping, but I´m not sure.

Yes they do stamp visa in UAE and that is an option one can opt for provided you have valid residence permit of UAE, - this is what I heard from my consultant

Yes you have the option of either stamp the Visa in Abu Dhabi or send the passports to CIC London. but they said clearly it will take longer if you choose Abu Dhabi.
I rather dealing directly with CIC London, but not sure if couriers like FedEx or DHL have the self addressed return back service?????
