Subject: CAIPS
Hi, I am tempted to go for CAIPS. Will this not delay further my PR processing? I actually used an immigration company/lawyer for my processing....can I still avail of CAIPS service myself? or should my immigration company apply for it too?

thanks joe05

Have you received your IA(initial assessment)? If not then you will be wasting your time and money by getting CAIPS notes.

You can get the CAIPS notes from anyone - your lawyer, websites (like www.caipsnotes.com), friend/relative in Canada.

yes actually file was transferred to detroit last march...i can now view my file number in the detroit immigration status saying that they received my file and waiting to be scheduled for interview....just that...they update the list once a month....so far they haven´t updated for May...hoping to be scheduled in 2 or 3 months at the most. thanks

In that case if you should order the CAIPS notes (provided you did not get them after IA).

Have you done your medicals as yet?

No I haven´t done medical but i am contemplating on doing it even before i got the request...i read in other post that one guy got his visa on the day of interview because he opted to have RCMP and medical right after the file was transferred to detroit...he did not wait for instruction to do so...i don;t know sometime waiting makes you think of a lot of stuff =) thanks for your inputs
