I would like to know about your landing experience. I am going to get my visa on June 7 in person and I planing to cross an Canadina border on June 21.
Any advise?
We rented a U-hall truck from Alabama USA to Vancouver BC.
Please tell about checking procedure on the border.

Hi Tatyana.
I was living in San Francisco. So my landing process was really easy. My flight took a little longer than two hours.(from San Francisco to Vancouver).
I arrived little after 5:00 PM on Saturday. I had everything ready. Custom process took me about five minutes. The immigration officer was a nice lady. She only asked me two questions (my marital status and if I had any
problems with the police). Then I signed the
Confirmation of Permanent Residency and received my copy.
The PR card would be mailed to the address in Canada.
Here is list of some important points:
1)- Prepare list of you personal items in detail: what you are taking with you and what will be arrived later.(2 copies each)
2)- Your passport, Comfirmation of permanent resident and
your poof of funds.
3)- The Canadian address for the PR card.
Just be organized and have all necessary information printed and ready.
It is very important that you have all the documents with
you and not packed with the checked in bags. You will be meeting with Custom and the Immigration before you get a chance to claim your bags.
It was easire than I thougt.
I spent another 30 minutes to ask questions and get more information. Then I checked into the nearest bar and had
a cocktail or several!
That was all.
The next Monday I applied for SIN in person.
I applied for the BC health insurance via express mail.
(I can´t believe there is no office in Vancouver! The nearest office is in Victoria).
