Gurvinder..It is really funy part of you that you did not get endorsed your Surname on th epassport yet as you got a letter from CHC for that a long time back. Well Go to ( If you are in Punjab) Jalandhar passport Office, meet PRO and show the PP request letter, application form to endorse your surname with an affidavit and a News Paper cutting where you have to publish change of Name. Do it Fast...........Man

Good Luck

There is some Tatkal Service thru which you can get it done in 2 weeks. This problem is little easier in case of females as they can just show their marraige certificate and put her husband´s surname.
Anyways... good luck.

I didnt change my name (I also didnt have my surname mentioned on my passport)! I am a guy and I got the visa without any hassle! I just had my surname put as "Singh", even though it was in my given names section

Hi Amy, i applied for the sponsorship of my spouse, who is in N.Delhi, and her file is being processed in N.Delhi itself. Her Last Name is NOT written in the surname field, instead it is written on the Given Name field, and the Surname field has been left blank, as to what I understand you were in the same situation. Did you face any complications because of that? Second thing, did you actually go to the Passport Office and get the name changed? Please let me know ASAP, if possible.

Thanks.
