Ciao,
I applied at Rome CIC post in October 2004, received AOR in November 2004 but still no IA. I´ve enquired once through the Canadian Consulate in Milan and they were talking about a year or slightly more for the entire process. I´m skeptical given the time it´s taking just to get the file assessed. Please share your timeline.

I applied at Rome in January 2004. Since now I haven´t gotten any news......
I got my caips last week and I found out that i passed the paper screening selection on August 2004.
My Bfd was may 2005 but I haven´t heard anything yet.
This is it mainly.
Are you Italian ?
My lawyer too said that it would have taken just a bit more then one year but for me its already 14 months ...... Getting a bit depressed honestly.

Thanks,

Gatta,
sorry for the delay in the response. Yes, I´m Italian, although part of the delay in my case may be due to cross-checking with Berlin CIC post. I requested the CAIPS codes a month ago but received a letter stating that they cannot even find my file. So far no IA. Please keep us updated on any news from Rome.

Thanks,
Igord

Ciao. I applied in Rome in October 2004, received AOR in November 2004. From then on it has been absolute silence from them. On the AOR letter CIC stated that no enquiries were to be made before 36 months (for skilled workers). This came as a surprise, given the timeline the Canadian consulate in Milan was telling me about (a year or so to complete process). I´ve asked for info by FAX but no reply. Another surprise was that the CAIPS codces I requested here in Canada were not available (the reply letter stated that no record of our case existed in Rome...). All I´m doing now is wait to see if e-client changes. I hope things will be smoother for you.

Igor
