Subject: medical blues
  Hi guys,

I would like to share similar experiances with friends on this board.I had my medical at new delhi, india in May 2005.Besides all the blood, urine and xrays the physical examination was complete one.Means he asked me to totally strip down (underwear too!!)on the table.Means is it normal and with everybody or it depends on doctor to doctor.I felt embarrased after the exam.

ur experiances are welcome.

I had my medicals in Toronto. This doc was very good...

Had a regular chest X-Ray, blood test, and Urine Test.

The Doc then took me in the examination room and checked my chest(lungs) and then the back.

There was no stripping required.

Didnt you ask your doc why stripping was required ?

Did he check something below the belt? I dont think there is anything to check below the belt for a typical medical exam.

Anyways its done and there is nothing to feel embarrased about... you are not going to see this doc again in your life. just try to forget it or may be you want to write a letter to the CIC, New Delhi about your experience once you are all done with the immigration proceedure...

Anyways Good luck... you are nearly there... I guess just a few more months and you should be coming in Canada.

Don´t feel embarrased, how the medical tests are done is upto the doc, and each doc may do it differently.

But if you did find something suspicious about the doc´s behaviour then this is a good place to mention the doc´s name and practice so that others who have gone to the doc can take some collective action against him.

Strip search (in reply to: medical blues)
Stripping completely thats a bit too much. Thats a first in the medicals for immigration to Canada. Good that you reported it. You should ask other doctors who are enrolled in immigration medicals in delhi if they follow the same procedure.

Well thank you guys for your replies and comments.I thought that it was a part of the procedure and everyone has to go through it.I have yet to come accross someone who had to strip completely for medical exam.If any one out there your inputs are welcome.
Rest i received the medical papers ,rolf and PPR all simultaneously. Its been now one month since I sent my passport,ROLF and medical reports to CIC.But still nothing heard from CHC,delhi.

Hi deliboy

Who was the doc or atleast let us know where its located so that applicants from delhi who are yet to go for medicals can be much more careful.

in Canada, a full medical exam involves fully stipping (male and female). They are looking for signs of STD´s, prostrate problems (this means an anal exam - both male and female and the examination of your genitals), signs of melanoma on your skin etc. This goes along with blood tests, x-rays etc. I am not sure if the CIC medical is that extensive - it may depend on the examining physician.

Personally, if I went to the doctor for a physical to make sure I am good health and he/she did not do those step, I would say they did not do their job.
