Subject: Sending Passport from India to CIC London
Hi

It seems that no courier in India will accept to deliver the passport. In that case how can one send the the passport to CIC London.

Can somebody throw some light on this subject

Its illegal for the courier and yourself to transport the Indian passport via courier or mail.

Read the conditions on the passport.

Anyways you can transport the passport within the country via a courier or mail.

Now to send the passport to London you will have to seek a local courier guy who is ready for it. These local guys send their stuff via a reliable courier and you do get a tracking no. so its not problem.

Pushpa,
I had sent my ppt by aramex to London last month(20 Jul). It reached London safely and my ecas changed to Decision Made on last monday (12 Aug). I am waiting for the ppt to return.
The courier guys asked me to declare the contents and i declared it as documents.
Sending by courier to London is not an issue, but the return may be of concern. There are chances that the courier companies in UK refuse the transportation of ppt to India. I am just waiting..

Most countries do not have any rules prohibiting the mailing of passports but India does. When you mail passports to and from India there is a risk of it being confiscated by the customs (India). It is quite possible the package may never be opened by customs but if it gets opened then you may have to do a lot of running.

Like J did you can declare your passport as documents and mail them out of India. This is not recommended though. You can ask a friend who is flying out of India to carry the passports for you. You´ll have to provide him with an authorization letter.
